Chicago Takes Home Rainy Victory
The Chicago Bears defeated the Houston Texans 19-14 in the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Thursday night in a game that was shortened to just over a half due to weather.
The Bears took an early lead and never looked back, despite a late rally by the Texans. Chicago's defense was stout all night, forcing two turnovers and sacking Houston quarterback Davis Mills four times.
The Bears' offense was led by quarterback Justin Fields, who threw for 151 yards and a touchdown. Running back David Montgomery also had a strong game, rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown.
The Texans were led by Mills, who threw for 174 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Brandin Cooks had a team-high six receptions for 72 yards.
The game was played in heavy rain, which made it difficult for both teams to move the ball. The Bears were able to take advantage of the conditions, however, and they ultimately came away with the victory.
