Buffalo Bills Defeat Chicago Bears 24-21 in Preseason Finale
Josh Allen Leads Bills to Victory at Soldier Field
The Chicago Bears ended the 2023 preseason on a low note, falling to the Buffalo Bills 24-21 at Soldier Field. Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills' starters looked sharp in their final tune-up before the regular season, while the Bears struggled to find their footing offensively.
Allen led the Bills on a scoring drive on their opening possession, connecting with Stefon Diggs for a 25-yard touchdown pass. The Bears responded with a field goal, but the Bills extended their lead to 14-3 with another touchdown pass from Allen, this time to Gabe Davis.
The Bears cut the deficit to 14-10 with a touchdown run by Khalil Herbert, but the Bills added a field goal just before halftime to take a 17-10 lead into the break.
The Bears made a push in the second half, with Justin Fields leading a touchdown drive to tie the game at 17-17. However, the Bills regained the lead with a touchdown run by James Cook, and the Bears were unable to answer.
The Bears finished the preseason with a 1-2 record, while the Bills improved to 2-1. Both teams will now turn their attention to the regular season, which begins next week.
