Timberwolves Stage Historic Comeback, Eliminate Nuggets in Game 6

Edwards Leads Charge as Minnesota Overcomes 20-Point Deficit

Timberwolves Advance to Second Round of Playoffs

DENVER (AP) - The Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off a stunning 20-point comeback on Friday night, defeating the Denver Nuggets 116-106 in Game 6 of their Western Conference first-round playoff series.

Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves with 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 20 points and 10 rebounds. Nikola Jokic had a triple-double for the Nuggets with 40 points, 13 assists, and 13 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to prevent Denver from being eliminated from the playoffs.

The Timberwolves trailed by 20 points in the third quarter, but they rallied to tie the game at 97-97 with just over six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Minnesota then took the lead for good on a three-pointer by Jaden McDaniels with 4:20 left to play.

The Nuggets were unable to recover, and the Timberwolves closed out the game with a 19-9 run. The victory sends Minnesota to the second round of the playoffs, where they will face the Memphis Grizzlies.

Edwards, who was held to just 5 points in the first half, was critical to the Timberwolves' comeback. He scored 17 points in the third quarter and 5 more in the fourth, including the game-tying three-pointer.

"We just stuck together," Edwards said. "We knew we could come back, and we just kept fighting. We're a resilient team, and we're not going to give up no matter what."
