Timberwolves Secure Game 1 Victory in Conference Semifinal Opener
Edwards Shines with Playoff Career-High
Wolves 106, Nuggets 99
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (AP) - Anthony Edwards erupted for a playoff career-high 43 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves took control of their Western Conference Semifinal series with a 106-99 Game 1 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.
The Wolves seized the early advantage and never relinquished it, with Edwards leading the charge from the opening tip. The dynamic guard attacked the basket relentlessly, drawing fouls and converting at the free throw line with ease.
While the Nuggets managed to rally and cut the deficit to single digits in the third quarter, Naz Reid delivered a clutch performance off the bench to seal the win. The big man scored 10 points in the final period, including a key three-pointer that gave Minnesota a comfortable cushion.
