Canada Edged by Team USA in FIBA Basketball World Cup
Brooks and Dort Lead Canadian Charge
Canada battled hard but ultimately fell to the United States in the FIBA Basketball World Cup on Saturday, September 10, 2023.
The game was a closely contested affair throughout, with Canada leading by as many as 9 points in the third quarter. However, the United States team rallied back and eventually took the lead for good with just over two minutes remaining in the game. Dillon Brooks led the way for Canada with 39 points, while Lu Dort added 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Canada can be proud of their performance in the tournament. They finished with a record of 7-2 and advanced to the quarterfinals. This is the best finish for Canada at the FIBA Basketball World Cup since 1986.
