England Win Under-21 European Championship
England beat Spain 1-0 in the final
Curtis Jones' deflected free-kick secured the victory
England have won the European Under-21 Championship for the first time since 2009 after a dramatic 1-0 victory over Spain in the final.
Curtis Jones scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute, with his free-kick deflecting off team-mate Cole Palmer and into the net.
The victory was all the more impressive given that England had to play the last 20 minutes of the game with 10 men after Anthony Gordon was sent off.
James Maddison was the hero for England in the penalty shootout, saving two spot-kicks to secure the victory.
The win is a major boost for English football, and will give fans hope for the future of the national team.
